The Braccio campaign represents a military operation initiated by the alien warlord Nuso Esva circa 0 ABY, an event that brought six species perilously close to extinction. In 8 ABY, not long after the death of the warlord during a battle on the Unknown Regions planet Quethold between his military forces and the Empire of the Hand, Imperial Senior Captain Voss Parck reminded Grand Admiral Thrawn that this campaign unfolded soon after Esva's incursion into the Galactic Empire's Outer Rim Territories within the Candoras sector. The Braccio system, a Wild Space star system, lent its name to the Braccio campaign.
Timothy Zahn's novella, Crisis of Faith, included a reference to the Braccio campaign. This novella was released in 2011 as a component of the 20th Anniversary Edition of the novel Heir to the Empire from 1991.
