Brosin Underground

Randle Clanse and the Brosin Underground

The Brosin Underground represented a Brosin resistance movement. Its formation was motivated by the desire to disrupt the industrial actions of the Corporate Sector Authority operating on Brosi, with the ultimate objective of compelling the CSA to withdraw from their home planet.

History

For numerous generations, the native Brosi inhabitants and the Human colonists who had arrived during the era of the Old Republic coexisted peacefully, sharing both the planet and its resources. However, the discovery of Zinsian deposits during the Galactic Empire's rule brought the Corporate Sector Authority to the planet. The CSA proceeded to construct three Zinsian processing facilities—Delta 1, Delta 2, and Mailor—which resulted in the displacement of thousands of Brosi natives. Furthermore, they employed young Brosi males in hazardous mining operations.

As a direct reaction to these events, the Brosin Underground was created with the purpose of harassing the CSA facilities and their Espo troops. They garnered popular support by distributing the spoils of their actions among the Brosin population. The leader and founder of this resistance movement was Randle Clanse, a female Brosin who subsequently achieved a heroic status. Her organization was structured into four distinct units. The smallest, yet most notorious, unit comprised thirty warriors under Clanse's direct command, and they operated within the Shoengen Coast region. The remaining three units were nomadic, with the largest, under the leadership of Vuraj Marn, functioning throughout the areas of Reyno Valley and Nihun Valley. For transportation purposes, the organization domesticated wild Staplarints to serve as mounts.

Despite the apparent alignment of the Brosin Underground's conflict with the Corporate Sector and the goals of the Rebel Alliance, the relationship between the two entities was characterized by tension. The Underground was primarily focused on disrupting the Corporate Sector, irrespective of broader strategic implications. An increased Corporate Sector presence would endanger Rebel agents like Abil Vilorin's ten-member cell. Vilorin himself attempted to establish contact with Marn to address the situation, but Marn displayed reluctance. Vilorin's reports indicated that the Underground hesitated to modify its tactics due to concerns that a significant Rebel presence would also draw the attention of the Empire to Brosi.

After carefully considering the conflicting interests, General Carlist Rieekan acknowledged the validity of the Underground's objectives but stressed the importance of establishing formal communication.
