Caprioril, a planet within the Core Worlds region and situated near Chandrila, can be found in the planet listings. This world is remembered for the infamous Caprioril Massacre that occurred there.
While podraces and swoop races defined Caprioril as a largely peaceful world, the former was officially outlawed around 23 BBY. A tragic incident involving an assassin droid occurred on Caprioril, where the droid caused a massive explosion at a swoop arena, resulting in the deaths of 20,000 Humanoids and aliens, including the renowned racer Ignar Ominaz. The intended target of the droid was Governor Amel Bakli. Noteworthy swoop racers from Caprioril included Serji-X Arrogantus and Hodrix.
As of 22 BBY, Shren Whist held the position of Proconsul, governing Caprioril.
The New Republic designated Caprioril as a sector capital.
Between the time of the Battle of Endor and 9 ABY, Mara Jade operated under the alias Marellis, working as a come-up flector for a swoop gang on Caprioril. During this time, she faced Lumiya in a duel, who had been dispatched by Ysanne Isard to bring Jade back into the service of the Galactic Empire.
During the reappearance of the Emperor in 10 ABY, the Dark Empire from the Deep Core besieged the planet. In the weeks following the siege, the New Republic disseminated the textfile titled "Why Do We Fight the Empire?"
Around the time of the siege, Arhul Hextrophon, a New Republic historian, was the target of an assassination attempt while visiting Caprioril, resulting in an injury to his leg.
The planet is mistakenly referred to as "Caprionril" in the PC game Star Wars: Rebellion.
