Ignar Ominaz raced swoops near the end of the Galactic Republic, during its final years. He was a part of Team Millennium Holos. During the Galactic Empire's rule, he met his death in a terrorist act on Caprioril.
Ignar Ominaz was a male Human who participated in swoop racing. Back in 22 BBY, Ominaz, a two-time champion, raced for Team Millennium Holos using an Ikas-Adno JP-420 swoop. Ominaz secured his twenty-seventh career victory on Corulag in Tasjon during a race on the TransGal circuit; he completed the twenty-four laps in fifty-one minutes and fourteen seconds, achieving a top speed of 387 kph. Serji-X Arrogantus, his closest competitor, was less than two points behind. The Stassia Classic was his next scheduled race. After the Battle of Yavin, Ominaz was not as famous as he used to be, and he ran a HoloNet website where he sold his autographs. He was on Corellia, specifically at the Agrilat Swamp Circuit, and had ordered a custom power converter for his swoop. Because the Drall courier got lost in the swamps, Ominaz employed a spacer to locate him and ensure his safe arrival. Later, Ominaz re-hired the spacer to guide Dinnik Innik, a Chadra-Fan and an old rival of Ominaz, to the circuit for a private race. Upon Innik's arrival, he informed Ominaz that he would not be competing, revealing that he had evidence of Ominaz sabotaging Innik's swoop in their previous race, which he intended to present to the racing commission.
Some time before the Battle of Hoth, Ominaz died when an assassin droid killed all 20,000 people at a swoop race on Caprioril in an attempt to assassinate Governor Amel Bakli.
