The Catlia system, a star system, existed within the Chiss Space region of the Unknown Regions in the galaxy. This system encompassed the planet known as Catlia. Furthermore, it was linked to the Cormit system via the Phalanx Route hyperlane. Catlia functioned as a remote colony inhabited by the sentient Chiss species.
The reference book The Essential Atlas, published in 2009 and written by Jason Fry together with Daniel Wallace, initially introduced the Catlia system, locating it in grid square G-8.
