Caz Ocean was situated on the planet called Lazerian IV. Its location was primarily in the eastern half of the planet, positioned west of the continent of Doxet and east of the continent of Laz; furthermore, it stretched to encompass both the northern and southern poles of the planet. Together with Dox Ocean, which was on the opposite side, it constituted the body of water referred to as "Father Ocean" by the native amphibious Akwin species. The city of Dorynn, located on Laz, and the city-state of Doxeti, situated on Doxet, formed the boundaries of Caz Ocean's coastal regions.
These two oceans together supported a great diversity of sea creatures, including many aquatic species, some of which were small, corals, and a wide assortment of aquatic plants. Both the Akwin and the indigenous Human inhabitants, known as the Lazerians, depended on the marine life as a source of food, with the Lazerians engaging in fishing. Additionally, they contained abundant minerals that interfered with sensor readings, providing concealment for the Akwin who lived in various city-states on the ocean floor.
John Terra conceived Caz Ocean, and it was first presented in Twin Stars of Kira, a 1993 addition to Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games.
