Cerik, a Jedi Master of the Human male persuasion, dedicated his life to the Jedi Order. He was a key figure during both the Cold War and the subsequent Galactic War that pitted the Galactic Republic against the newly reformed Sith Empire.
The Jedi Council entrusted Master Cerik with the responsibility of managing the Taris Resettlement Initiative in the year 3642 BBY. Regrettably, the Empire employed every strategy at their disposal to disrupt and ultimately halt the initiative. Aided by a traitor sympathetic to the Imperial cause, the Sith forces annihilated the majority of Republic forces stationed on the planet. Subsequently, a Sith army launched an assault on the Olaris Reclamation Base, which served as the headquarters for the resettlement efforts. During the ensuing conflict, Cerik was slain by an Imperial agent, the base was razed, and Taris fell under Sith control.
