Following the abduction of Edbit Teeks by the Tarhassan Planetary Security, Cherek became a member of a strike force tasked with locating the missing individual. Accompanied by Mapper Gann, Tinian Hanther, Joram Kithe, and Livintius Sazet, the team suspected Zazana Renkel's involvement in the kidnapping. Consequently, they abducted her, leading to her divulging information regarding Teek's location. Cherek displayed considerable displeasure with the rapid acquisition of information, which conflicted with his meticulously crafted strategy. While he was intending to conduct the interrogation, Joram recognized the plan's utter inadequacy, leading him to disclose more information than he extracted from their prisoner. During the course of the rescue operation, Cherek sustained a gunshot wound inflicted by an agent of the Planetary Authority, but he ultimately survived his injuries.
