Chic Stone


Chic Stone, born on January 4, 1923 and who passed away on July 28, 2000, was an artist who drew comic books, including contributing to a limited number of issues of the Marvel Star Wars series.

Stone's career in comics started in the early 1940s at Fawcett Comics, where he worked on Captain Marvel. Throughout the 1940s, he contributed to various publishers like Timely Comics and Lev Gleason Publications. However, he later transitioned from comics to become an art director for different magazines and also created storyboards for TV commercials. Stone made a comeback to the comic world in the 1960s, becoming a regular inker of Jack Kirby's pencil work at Marvel Comics on well known comics such as Fantastic Four, X-Men, and Thor. He also did some work at DC Comics, where he pencilled a few Batman stories. During the 1970s and 80s, he contributed to a number of titles at Archie Comics, working on both their superhero and teen humor comics.
