Chuck Wendig


Chuck Wendig is the author behind the Aftermath Trilogy (Aftermath from 2015, Aftermath: Life Debt from 2016, and Aftermath: Empire's End from 2017), a set of canon novels taking place after the events depicted in Star Wars_: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. In addition, he penned a short story centered on the character Wuher, who appeared in A New Hope. Wendig also adapted Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens into a comic adaptation and has contributed to at least one comic book focusing on Darth Vader.

Prior to his Star Wars work, he authored novels such as Blackbird and The Blue Blazes, among a wide variety of other works.

Biography

After expressing his desire to write for Star Wars in a tweet, Chuck Wendig was selected to write Aftermath. On September 4, 2014, Wendig's tweet stated: "Dear Internet: I wanna write a licensed STAR WARS novel. Please make this happen. squeezes Internet hard enough to make wishes fall out" This request proved successful, culminating in the release of Aftermath exactly one year later, on September 4, 2015.

Wendig was initially slated to write the Star Wars: Shadow of Vader comic book series, alongside another book that was yet to be announced. However, following his termination from Marvel Comics, the series was cancelled.
