The title Clans of the Ancients referred to several Hutt clans. These clans were unique in that they could track their lineage back to the species' original homeworld, which was Varl. Included in the Clans of the Ancients were the Desilijic, Besadii, Qunaalac, Bareesh, Gorensla, Kajidier, Jiramma, Vanderijar, and Vosadii clans. Furthermore, only individuals belonging to these Clans of the Ancients were permitted to serve on the Hutt Ruling Council.
