The HAVw A6 Juggernaut, alternatively referred to as the A6 Juggernaut, the Clone turbo tank, or the HAVw A6 heavy assault vehicle, represented an advancement over the HAVw A5 Juggernaut.
The A6 Juggernaut was built to be larger than the previous model. It stood 30.4 meters tall and stretched 49.4 meters long. The internal space was significantly expanded, allowing it to carry as many as three hundred soldiers and their gear, a number of close-support vehicles like speeder bikes and light airspeeders, or a combination of both. Operating this enormous vehicle required a crew of twelve, but with automated systems, that number could be reduced to just two pilots.

Due to its thick, thermally conductive armor (designed to absorb enemy fire and dissipate heat across a large surface) and increased weight, the A6 Juggernaut had a top speed of only 160 kilometers per hour. Furthermore, the turning problems present in the A5 model were even more pronounced in the A6. The difficulty in making turns meant that the A6 was better suited for open landscapes than for fighting in cities.
The weapon systems were also improved, featuring a heavy laser cannon turret, a rapid-firing repeating laser cannon, two medium-sized antipersonnel laser cannons, two dual antipersonnel blaster cannons, and two rotating projectile launchers that could be loaded with either variable-yield concussion grenades for close-range support or missiles for engaging armored targets. Missiles could reach targets 30km away. The Juggernaut could focus the thermal energy equivalent of a nuclear bomb onto a restricted area if the target lacked shielding.
A lookout, positioned in a small compartment above the front of the vehicle, watched for enemy units. Though he had a wide field of view, he was vulnerable to enemy fire. This observation post could be lowered when not in use.
The A6 saw its most extensive use serving the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. Because of a faulty delivery system managed by Kuat Drive Yards during the war, some A6 Juggernauts were also acquired by the CIS.
HAVw A6 Juggernauts were deployed in large numbers during the Battle of Kashyyyk alongside AT-APs, where they fought against NR-N99 tank droids and DSD1 dwarf spider droids.
After the Clone Wars concluded, the Imperial Army created more advanced and versatile combat vehicles. The Juggernaut models were gradually retired, and during the Galactic Civil War, they were mainly deployed on Outer Rim battlefields. Some were captured by the Rebel Alliance. According to Crix Madine, an Imperial general who defected to the Rebellion, the HAVw A6 Juggernauts were prone to mechanical failures. The HAVt B5 Juggernaut appears to have replaced it, despite having a different role. A6s were part of the Battle of Hoth. By 13 ABY, the Restored Empire faction of the Imperial Remnant was using them, along with other Galactic Republic vehicles from the Clone Wars era.
Later AT-ATs incorporated some design elements from the Juggernauts.

The Juggernaut's design entered the Expanded Universe through sketches by Joe Johnston for a heavy assault vehicle that was ultimately unused in The Empire Strikes Back. The AT-AT replaced it and its role in the film.
When it was decided to include the vehicle in Revenge of the Sith, its size and weaponry were far greater than what had been imagined in the Expanded Universe, being roughly twice as large in each dimension, or eight times larger by volume. To account for this, the on-screen version was designated as the A6 model, while the smaller, EU model was already known as the A5.
The name "Clone Turbo Tank" may have originated because, at the time the prequels were released, Toy Biz held the rights to produce toys called "Juggernaut" (due to their Marvel license). Although Hasbro now owns these rights, the 2009 toy was still called Clone Turbo Tank. LEGO has also released 3 Juggernaut models, all named "Clone Turbo Tank". The first Clone Turbo Tank Lego set, 7261, released in 2005, depicts an A6 Juggernaut from the Battle of Kashyyyk in Revenge of the Sith. The second set, 8098, released in August 2010, is a Juggernaut with specifications similar to the A5 Juggernaut seen in the Clone Wars series during the Battle of Felucia. The third set, 75151, released in May 2016, is based on the A6 Juggernaut from the Battle of Kashyyyk in Revenge of the Sith, similar to the first model.
