LEGO

The company known as The LEGO Group manufactures toys under the LEGO brand. Despite LEGO Star Wars being considered non-canonical, its products and narratives have integrated elements from both the older Legends continuity and the current canon, often adapting or creating parodies of events and characters.

Development

A LEGO Star Wars Imperial AT-AT Walker

The plastic toy bricks marketed under the LEGO name are a product of LEGO System A/S, more commonly called the LEGO Group. Ole Kirk Kristiansen established this company in 1932, and its headquarters are located in Billund, Denmark. The LEGO Group initiated the LEGO Star Wars line in 1999, marking their first venture into licensed properties. These LEGO Star Wars sets and minifigures feature characters, locations, and vehicles from the Star Wars universe. Further expansions have included books, short animated features, TV shows, and video games.

Jens Kronvold Frederiksen holds the position of design director for Star Wars at LEGO and has been involved with LEGO Star Wars since 1998. He frequently works together with Chris Gollaher, the director of product development at Lucasfilm Ltd..

The LEGO Star Wars short films and television series have presented both adaptations of the theatrical movies and entirely new stories. These have been shown on channels like Cartoon Network, Disney XD, and the streaming service Disney+.

TT Games is responsible for the animation seen in the video games. Early versions of these games did not include any spoken dialogue from the characters.
