Code Five was a designation for a contingency protocol utilized by the Special Operations Brigade of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Its activation mandated the Special Operations Brigade's complete return to Coruscant, a planet situated in the Core Worlds and serving as the capital of the Republic, in instances where its safety was compromised. At the onset of the Battle of Coruscant in 19 BBY, Jedi General Arligan Zey issued this directive.
Code Five, one of a series of emergency protocols, was implemented by the Special Operations Brigade of the Grand Army of the Republic. This brigade consisted of special forces clone troopers. Its activation triggered an immediate recall of all Special Operations personnel to Coruscant, the planet located in the Core Worlds that functioned as the capital of the Galactic Republic, should the planet be threatened and in need of defense. The Director of Special Forces held the authority to initiate this order.

During the Clone Wars in 19 BBY, a conflict fought between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Jedi General Arligan Zey, who served as the commander of the Special Operations Brigade, dispatched Code Five. This signal was sent to all Special Operations personnel throughout the galaxy following the invasion of Coruscant by the Confederacy. Although every clone commando within the brigade and their accompanying Jedi received the directive, including members of Omega Squad who promptly went to Coruscant, Arligan Zey's instruction was specifically intended for personnel stationed or situated within the Inner Rim region of the galaxy.
Scorch, the demolitions expert of Delta Squad, inquired with his squad three days later as to whether they had been summoned back to Coruscant by Code Five. Sev, the squad's sniper, clarified that the recall was limited to the Inner Rim and that they were already engaged in their covert mission on Kashyyyk, a Mid Rim planet.
Karen Traviss mentioned Code Five in her 2008 novel, Order 66: A Republic Commando Novel. This book is the fourth installment in the Republic Commando series.
