Commendation

ImperialRestussCommendation Imperial Restuss Commendation During the Battle of Restuss, circa 1 ABY, both the Empire and the Alliance began awarding commendations. These medallion-like items were given to spacers aligned with either faction who provided assistance during the Restuss conflict. These awards signified exceptional skill and service during the engagement, and spacers who accumulated multiple commendations could obtain various items from their faction's respective Commendation officer.

Historical Context

A peculiar aspect of this commendation system was that both Imperial and Rebel Commendation officers offered identical items in exchange for commendations earned. This was largely thought to be due to the Black Sun, the supplier of the Crusader items. One Black Sun member, in an anonymous interview, stated that regarding Crusader Armor, a singular business opportunity arose for the Black Sun to manufacture and distribute different types of combat armor to both the Rebellion and the Galactic Empire. It's believed this arrangement broadened to encompass certain Crusader armaments, thus explaining their availability from Commendation Officers on both sides.
