The container hangar was a large, boxy freight container, produced by Xizor Transport Systems. It was built with the explicit intent of holding many cargo containers from the Xizor product line, and could be fitted with defensive laser turrets. Furthermore, several of these hangars functioned as starfighter bays for locations needing starfighter defense but lacking pre-existing hangar infrastructure. The TIE Experimental Project utilized container hangars to house the Experimental TIEs at both the Nomlis III Factory and the Obsidian platform.
