Corellia University's research outpost, situated on Talus, functioned as an extension of Corellia University. During 1 ABY, individuals affiliated with the Cult of Exar Kun journeyed to this outpost with the aim of enlisting researchers and students into their organization. A particular researcher voiced opposition, asserting that recruits were being coerced, leading to his demise at the hands of the cultists.
Following a loss of communication with the outpost, Professor Cornelius Wagglehorn enlisted the services of a spacer to investigate the situation. The spacer discovered the outpost abandoned, but uncovered the events that transpired by examining the deceased researcher's datapad.
The Corellia University research outpost appeared as a site within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony Online Entertainment and released by LucasArts, before it was shut down on December 15, 2011. The outpost was integrated into the game alongside the "Exar Kun" Heroic Encounter, which was introduced with the launch of the "Chapter 9" update, on April 3, 2008.
