Coronet City Spaceport, alternatively referred to as Coronet Spaceport, facilitated both civilian and military transportation to and from the planet of Corellia, a prominent Core World within the galaxy. This sprawling complex, situated along the coastal region of Coronet City, was constructed centuries prior to the era of the Galactic Empire's rule. Around 13 BBY, the majority of the spaceport's staff consisted of Corellian Security Forces, although Imperial officers along with stormtroopers oversaw all operations.
Coronet City Spaceport made its initial appearance in the 1995 Star Wars Legends novel titled Ambush at Corellia. The canon of Star Wars saw the introduction of the spaceport in the 2018 Star Wars Anthology movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story. During the movie's creation, the writers and directors consulted Wookieepedia to find spaceports located on Corellia; there, they discovered the name "Coronet Spaceport" and chose to use it in the movie. Their intention was for the sequence to evoke the atmosphere of the Ellis Island scene from Francis Ford Coppola's 1974 film classic, The Godfather Part II.
