Coronet City Spaceport

Coronet City Spaceport, also referred to as Coronet Spaceport, served as a hub for civilian, commercial, and military vessels entering and exiting the planet Corellia, which is located within the Core Worlds of the galaxy. This expansive facility, situated on the coastal side of [Coronet City](/article/coronet_city], was constructed centuries before the Galactic Empire came into rule. As of 13 BBY, the spaceport's operations were primarily managed by the Corellian Security Forces, although Imperial officers alongside stormtroopers kept a watchful eye on all activity.

Behind the scenes

Interior view of the spaceport

The Coronet City Spaceport made its initial appearance in the Star Wars Legends novel Ambush at Corellia, released in 1995. It was then incorporated into the new Star Wars canon through its inclusion in the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story, part of the Star Wars Anthology. During the movie's production, the writers and directors consulted Wookieepedia in search of spaceports located on Corellia. Discovering the name "Coronet Spaceport," they opted to use it in the film. Their aim was to create a scene reminiscent of the Ellis Island sequence from Francis Ford Coppola's 1974 cinematic masterpiece, The Godfather Part II.
