Evakmar-KDY transport

Evakmar-KDY transports represented a rare instance of genuine collaboration between the Imperial Army and the Imperial Navy. These ships were engineered to accommodate an entire standard Army Corps, irrespective of the corps' composition. Furthermore, the construction of these vessels incorporated future-proofing, permitting some increase in the size of a standard corps.

Not long after 0 BBY, Evakmar-KDY transports were regarded as some of the most modern ships within the Imperial Navy. During that period, these ships were commonly deployed in troop lines that included two of the transports, along with two escort ships, generally Strike cruisers.

The Imperial Navy's Fleet Technical Services also made frequent use of the Evakmar-KDY transport to move substantial numbers of technicians to their designated locations. When used in this capacity, each transport typically had a pair of escorting frigates.
