A coufee represents a somewhat bent, two-edged dagger that the Yuuzhan Vong employed when fighting at a close range. These daggers, which were actually weaponized coufee eels, measured around 20 centimeters in length and, consistent with the Yuuzhan Vong's technological approach, were completely organic and living. The Chazrach slave soldiers also utilized the coufee as their primary weapon, a consequence of their compact, stout builds. Coufees frequently served as both a final option in battle and, for honor-bound fighters, a preferred method of suicide. Following the conclusion of the war, coufee eels established a habitat in Liberation Lake located on Coruscant, where they fell victim to predation by the indigenous hawk-bats.
