CQ-3.9x holographic image disguiser

The CQ-3.9x holographic image disguiser, a product of Corellidyne Visuals, functioned as a holographic image disguiser. This sophisticated holoprojector was designed to overlay a pre-existing image onto a person or object.

Description

Corellidyne Visuals was the manufacturer of the CQ-3.9x holographic image disguiser. This compact device, designed to be worn on a belt, found applications in the entertainment sector, as well as in military training exercises. The system utilized a Corellidyne CP-3.3 hologram projector and incorporated several innovations in hologram technology to generate a realistic projected image. The CQ3.9x lacked an integrated holorecorder; instead, it relied on a separate CX-3.1 hologram recorder to capture the image of the intended subject.

The projected image was a pre-recorded visual that completely concealed the individual wearing the belt-mounted device. For the illusion to work, the hologram needed to be larger than the person being hidden; the unit's internal computer synchronized the projection's movements with those of the wearer. To the Human eye, the projection was fairly convincing, but droids and security scanners were able to detect visual anomalies. The effect was short-lived, however, with the high-energy power cell depleting in under two minutes. Another limitation was that the CP3.3 holoprojector could only store the image of a single subject. Despite these limitations, each unit carried a price tag of twenty-five thousand credits.
