The Crowd Control Stormtrooper, a specialized stormtrooper type, frequently saw action in areas plagued by high crime rates, where their expertise lay in crowd suppression and the pacification of rebellions. Due to their specialized gear for managing crowds, small squads of these soldiers could effectively control groups of fifty individuals or more.
Each trooper carried a crowd control thruster pack, which featured a heavy blaster module, a capture claw, and a supercharged taser. These thruster packs gave the troopers the ability to fly at speeds reaching 200 kilometers per hour and offered high maneuverability. Furthermore, because these vehicles operated with relative silence, the Imperial Espionage Division sometimes utilized them. These stormtroopers originated from shock troopers.
Hasbro conceived the Crowd Control Stormtrooper in 1996 as part of the second Power of the Force toy line, where it was released as an action figure.
