CT-1226 was the designation given to a clone trooper who served the Galactic Republic within its Grand Army during the Clone Wars. This war was a major conflict between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. CT-1226 was involved in the opening battle of the Clone Wars, which took place on the planet of Geonosis. During this battle, the clone troopers of the Grand Army launched an assault on Separatist forces stationed there.
During the conflict, CT-1226 utilized their blaster to target a Confederate B2-HA series super battle droid that was preparing to fire a missile at Republic All Terrain Tactical Enforcer walkers. As a result of CT-1226's actions, the missile was redirected and struck a Confederate IG-227 Hailfire-class droid tank, leading to its destruction. This created an opening in the Separatist defensive line, allowing the Republic walkers to advance. CT-1226 was later recognized and honored for this particular action.

CT-1226 was a clone derived from the genetic material of the bounty hunter known as Jango Fett. They were created on the planet of Kamino with the purpose of serving as a trooper within the Galactic Republic's Grand Army. As part of their development into a clone trooper, CT-1226 participated in various training exercises, including live-fire simulations. In 22 BBY, the Clone Wars erupted across the galaxy, marking the beginning of a major conflict between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The opening battle of this war occurred on the planet Geonosis, where CT-1226, along with other clone troopers, fought against the forces of the Separatist Droid Army.
CT-1226, along with their assigned regiment, were positioned near the area where the Republic's initial strike had successfully destroyed Confederate Hardcell-class interstellar transports. Accompanied by Republic All Terrain Tactical Enforcer walkers and a group of four Self-Propelled Heavy Artillery units, CT-1226 and the other troopers advanced across a plateau in a skirmish line, moving towards the Separatist headquarters. During this deployment, the comlink integrated into the helmet's HUD worn by CT-1226 experienced static interference whenever a loud noise occurred. This prevented them from clearly hearing the communications from their lieutenant or the rest of their squad. Despite this issue, CT-1226 was able to remain with the group by visually tracking their movements.
The skirmish line, including CT-1226, soon encountered a substantial force of Confederate battle droids, which included IG-227 Hailfire-class droid tanks, OG-9 homing spider droids, B2 super battle droids, and B1-series battle droids. As the Republic forces moved within range of the missile-equipped Hailfire droids, CT-1226 narrowly avoided being struck by a blast originating from an AT-TE that had a malfunctioning guidance system. The impact of the blast resulted in CT-1226 being thrown into a crater, landing on their back with their feet pointing upwards and their HUD temporarily disabled. After regaining their orientation, CT-1226 began to climb out of the crater, but quickly ducked back down as a Hailfire droid rolled over the top of the crater, positioning a wheel on either side of the hole.
CT-1226 took aim with their blaster at the droid, which had paused to recalibrate its targeting system a short distance away. However, they decided against firing, reasoning that the blaster would not inflict significant damage on the heavily armored vehicle. As they turned around, CT-1226 found themselves face to face with two B1 battle droids standing at the edge of the crater, aiming their E-5 blaster rifles directly at them. Behind the B1 droids was a B2-HA series super battle droid, equipped with a missile launcher on one arm. Unlike the B1 droids, the B2-HA droid did not notice CT-1226 in the crater and instead pushed the two B1 droids aside as they were obstructing its path towards the AT-TE walkers.

As the B2-HA battle droid continued to move around the side of the crater, CT-1226 fired their blaster at the droid just as it launched a missile towards the Republic lines. The shot caused the B2-HA to fall, its missile launcher becoming embedded in the ground. The missile, instead of flying over the crater, struck the same Hailfire droid that had previously rolled over the top of it, causing a large explosion that destroyed the droid. The resulting blast forced CT-1226 to take cover as debris from the destroyed droid rained down around them. CT-1226 then threw an EMP grenade at the downed B2-HA, before approaching it and firing several shots into its back to ensure its destruction.
The destruction of the Hailfire droid created a gap in the droid army's defensive formation, allowing the AT-TE walkers to advance through. A few minutes later, CT-1226 boarded one of the walkers' crew cabins and received a replacement HUD. CT-1226 was awarded a commendation by the battle's generals for their quick thinking and resourcefulness, despite their attempts to decline the honor. A debriefing session with CT-1226 about the battle was included in the document titled Geonosian Debriefings, Vol. III.
During the initial battle on Geonosis, CT-1226 was able to effectively manage the static interference on their HUD, a skill developed through their training on Kamino. Upon observing large battalions of droids advancing towards the clone forces shortly after deployment, CT-1226 deduced that they were heading in the correct direction towards the Separatist headquarters due to the significant number of troops guarding it. However, they also recognized that the clone force would likely suffer heavy losses without adequate air support. When CT-1226 had an opportunity to fire at the Hailfire droid, they chose not to, believing that their blaster would not be effective against the heavily armored vehicle, even at close range. Having recently been in the crater, CT-1226 understood the confusion the B2-HA series super battle droid experienced when its missile arm became stuck in the ground. However, they knew that they would likely be dead if they allowed the droid to recover, so they took action to eliminate it. CT-1226 also attempted to refuse the commendation for their quick thinking and resourcefulness in creating a hole in the Separatist lines, as they felt that the only intelligent decision they made was falling into the crater. As a clone of Jango Fett, CT-1226 had a height of 1.83 meters.
In combat situations, CT-1226 utilized a blaster from the DC-15 series and wore standard Phase I clone trooper armor, which included a HUD integrated into their helmet.
CT-1226 made their first appearance in The Essential Guide to Warfare, authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart. This guide, released in 2012, provided detailed information about the various conflicts within the Star Wars galaxy. Fry later mentioned in his endnotes for Warfare that he enjoyed writing the section that featured CT-1226, and that sometimes, luck is more valuable than skill.
