Lord Cuvir, a male Human, held the position of Imperial Governor of Firro, which was also his homeworld. This occurred in the early stages of the Galactic Civil War.
Lord Cuvir, an imperious and merciless figure, supervised the Imperial conquest of Firro before the Battle of Yavin. He apparently subdued the planet himself before the official Imperial takeover. Imperial forces under Cuvir's control perpetrated numerous horrific acts against the citizens of Firro. After the Empire firmly established its dominance over the population, Cuvir was appointed as Firro's Imperial Governor.
During a visit to one of the planet's packed relief centers, Cuvir noticed a medical droid known as 2-1B. Impressed by the droid's proficiency and resolve, Cuvir commandeered 2-1B to be his personal physician, thereby leaving the people of his homeworld with less effective medical attention.
At some point following the Battle of Yavin, Lord Cuvir traveled to his private estate on the planet Wor Tandell, accompanied by 2-1B. While there, Cuvir found one of his assistants preparing a coded datapad containing details of Imperial fleet movements within the Tandell system. He was about to arrest the man on suspicion of being a Rebel when a struggle broke out. The aide shot Cuvir with a blaster, resulting in his immediate death. 2-1B, who had long regarded his master as the most malevolent being he had encountered, still attempted to save Cuvir in accordance with his programming, but his efforts were futile.
2-1B learned that the "aide" was in reality a Rebel operative named Tiree. Tiree successfully persuaded 2-1B to join the Rebel Alliance.
