D'Mayna Stallaphalat

D'Mayna Stallaphalat, often referred to as Stella, was a Bith female existing during the period of the Galactic Civil War. Her livelihood was derived from owning and operating the Third Sun Cantina, situated within the modest desert settlement of Mos Taike located on the Outer Rim planet of Tatooine.

Biography

Abandoned by her father on the unforgiving desert world at a young age, Stella matured on Tatooine. Later, she came to possess the cantina in Mos Taike, managing the establishment for numerous years. Through this role, she became acquainted with nearly all the residents of the town and fostered friendships with a diverse array of individuals, including spies, miners, officers, farmers, Rebels, and cops.

In the year 1 ABY, a contingent of patrons, notably Bent Spur, departed her cantina without settling their tabs. Stella engaged a spacer to pursue Spur and his companions to recover the owed credits. Upon the spacer's return with the funds, Stella compensated the adventurer with a modest reward. The influential crime lord Jabba the Hutt had also developed an interest in her cantina. A petty criminal by the name of Ulek Talstin pilfered the cantina's deed and attempted to deliver it to Jabba, hoping to ingratiate himself with the Hutt and gain membership in his organization. This action threatened to transfer ownership of Stella's establishment to Jabba. Given Mos Taike's lawless nature, where justice was often determined by blaster fire, involving law enforcement was not an option. She once more enlisted the spacer's assistance. The adventurer located Talstin in the desert near the town and was forced to eliminate him when Talstin initiated hostilities. Stella expressed profound gratitude when the spacer returned with the recovered, invaluable deed.

To address the impending threat of Jabba's potential encroachment on the Third Sun, Stella compensated a Bothan spy to procure intelligence for her. Given the spy's need to avoid transmitting data over the HoloNet, the spacer once again agreed to support Stella by meeting the Bothan in the desert. He retrieved the datadisc containing the promise and threat of Lady Valarian, Jabba's local adversary. The datadisc contained information that, should Jabba attempt to seize the cantina, Valarian's organization would retaliate by attacking and destroying the building. Stella subsequently transmitted this information to Jabba, hoping to dissuade him from interfering with her business.

Personality and traits

Having been abandoned on Tatooine as a young child, Stella not only endured the harsh conditions of the desert planet but also successfully established a thriving business in the unregulated settlement of Mos Taike. She interacted with a wide range of individuals, many of whom were outlaws and even some Rebels, although she endeavored to conceal her associations with the Rebellion from others.

Maintaining a business in Mos Taike necessitated resilience. When customers attempted to evade their debts, Stella readily hired enforcers to apprehend them. She also confronted the menace posed by the powerful and influential Jabba the Hutt, a prominent figure in the Outer Rim. However, she refused to relinquish the business she had cultivated over the years and resisted Jabba's advances, leveraging his rival, Lady Valarian, to thwart the Hutt's takeover attempts.

Behind the scenes

Stella functioned as a Non-Player Character (NPC) within Sony Online Entertainment's MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies, before the game's shutdown on December 15, 2011. She was located within the Third Sun cantina in Mos Taike on Tatooine. She presented players with three minor quests that involved venturing into the desert to encounter and/or eliminate NPCs. Each of these three quests rewarded players with 30 credits.
