Darred Janren Naberrie, who has also been known as Darred Janren and sometimes Darred Naberrie, was a male architect hailing from the planet of Naboo. It was at a university that Janren encountered Sola Naberrie, a fellow student. After their graduations, the pair married circa 28 BBY. Recognizing the significance of the name of House Naberrie, Darred adopted Naberrie as his surname. Together, Darred and Sola had two children: Ryoo and Pooja.
A male native of Naboo, Darred Janren's paternal grandmother was named Pooja. While studying to become an architect at a prestigious Naboo university, the young Janren met Sola Naberrie, and they began a relationship. Around 28 BBY, after they both graduated and halfway into the reign of Padmé Amidala (Sola's sister) as Queen of Naboo, Sola and Darred were married. Janren's marriage made him a member of the influential House Naberrie, and, acknowledging its value in business, political, and social spheres within Naboo culture, the couple decided to keep the Naberrie surname. Consequently, Darred's full name became Darred Janren Naberrie, although he was occasionally known as Darred Naberrie.
Sola's mother, Jobal, was greatly comforted by Darred and Sola's wedding, as it mirrored the kind of life she had envisioned for her daughters. However, the relationship also heightened Jobal's concerns about Amidala's role as queen. Shortly after their marriage, in 28 BBY, Sola gave birth to their first daughter, Ryoo, followed by another daughter in 26 BBY, whom they named Pooja after Darred's grandmother. Sola and Darred's family resided in the same district of the capital city of Theed as Sola's parents, Jobal and Ruwee, allowing the children to frequently visit their grandparents. Darred became connected to the Skywalker family, who would later become the most famous family in galactic history, through Amidala's wedding to the Jedi Anakin Skywalker in 22 BBY.
Darred's character was initially referenced in the Databank entries for Pooja and Sola Naberrie, published on StarWars.com in 2002. Pooja's entry used "Darred Naberrie," while Sola's entry used "Darred Janren" and clarified that they both agreed to maintain the Naberrie surname post-marriage. The character was fully identified as "Darred Janren Naberrie" in Star Wars Annual 2009, a reference book released in 2008.
The Official Star Wars Fact File magazine, eightieth issue published by De Agostini on July 9, 2003, indicated that Sola and Darred's wedding occurred approximately halfway through Padmé Amidala's time as queen of Naboo, placing it around 28 BBY. However, The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia (2009) stated that their wedding took place shortly after the Battle of Naboo, which happened in 32 BBY. This article adheres to the Fact File's timeline.
