Darth Sanguis was a Sith Lord of the male persuasion who, as the stories tell it, journeyed to Exegol with the intention of discovering the secrets of immortality. Having reached his objective, Darth Sanguis underwent a gradual transformation into a monstrous being. Ultimately, upon the arrival of Darth Noctyss on Exegol, who was similarly pursuing immortality, Sanguis entered her service. Noctyss ultimately offered Sanguis as a sacrifice in an immortality ritual, thus ending his miserable existence while simultaneously condemning herself to a comparable destiny.
Darth Sanguis departed for the Unknown Regions in a quest for eternal life, vanishing from all known records for many years, his whereabouts a complete mystery.
Darth Noctyss, driven by the same desire for immortality, eventually arrived at Exegol, where she encountered Sanguis, though he was aged, warped, and unrecognizable; she did not realize his true identity. Sanguis briefly served as her servant and apprentice. The ritual that Noctyss unearthed on Exegol mandated the sacrifice of a living creature, and Sanguis was the sole living being available to the female Sith. She proceeded to kill Sanguis, thereby attaining eternal life, albeit in a drastically altered form. Noctyss experienced a transformation into a creature strikingly similar to Sanguis, leading her to understand the fate that had befallen him. Noctyss spent the remainder of her days as a disfigured monster, isolated and immortal, on Exegol.
Darth Sanguis made his debut in 2020 within "A Life Immortal," a narrative featured in the book Dark Legends, authored and illustrated by George Mann and Grant Griffin, respectively.
