Darth Vader's tower
Darth Vader's Tower, situated in the Imperial City on Coruscant, functioned as a personal sanctuary. It was a place where the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader, could withdraw for meditation and rigorous training in the Force. Inside, Vader housed one of his meditation spheres, which provided a safe environment for him to temporarily remove pieces of his armor. Following the Battle of Shumari, Vader sequestered Tao, one of his secret apprentices, within the tower, shielding him from his master, Emperor Palpatine. After the Battle of Yavin, Vader sought solace in his tower to contemplate the identity of the Rebel pilot responsible for the destruction of the Death Star. It was there that Tao confronted him, leading to a brief sparring match.
Vader once more sought refuge in the tower after discovering that Luke Skywalker, his long-lost son, was the pilot who had annihilated the Death Star. While meditating on the best course of action to reunite with his son, Tao approached him again. Knowing that his son lived, Vader dismissed Tao, instructing him to forge his own path. Tao, though enraged, departed the tower, disheartened by Vader's decision to abandon him.
Behind the scenes
The design of this tower seemingly draws inspiration from the facemask of Vader's distinctive armor. The relationship between this structure and Darth Vader's Palace, which served a similar purpose, remains unclear.
