The Davaab-type starfighter represents a class of starfighter employed by the Mandalorians both prior to and during the period known as the Mandalorian Wars.

This fighter, taking its designation from the Mando'a terms signifying "carrying out" and "execution," served the Mandalorians in the role of protecting capital ship assets. Measuring 8.8 meters in length, the Davaab starfighter was characterized by its broad design and uniquely asymmetrical wings, featuring one longer, bent fin-shaped wing and a shorter wing equipped with a cannon. A bubble-shaped canopy provided the pilot with enhanced visibility of the surrounding airspace. The design incorporated a landing mechanism where each wing rotated into a horizontal position, a concept that shares similarities with the operational principles of the B-wing starfighter developed millennia afterward.
Its origins can be traced back to a significantly altered Core Galaxy Systems design predating the Great Sith War. Consequently, numerous variations were observed under the ownership of the Mandalorian Crusaders. As the Neo-Crusaders began to exert their influence across the Mandalorian military, mass production of this type commenced within their dedicated war forges, providing a more standardized model to equip the newer generation of warriors.
The precise date of their introduction into Mandalorian service remains unknown, but the Davaab-type fighter saw combat during the Mandalorian's campaigns across the outer rim territories. The Davaab starfighters were regarded by Mandalorian Crusaders as symbols of individual achievement, leading them to dedicate their personal time and resources to implementing modifications and enhancements.
With the rise of the Neo-Crusader philosophy, the Davaab fighter adopted a more consistent and uniform appearance. Many veteran Mandalorians, displeased with the standardized configuration and reduced comfort of the newer models, secretly resumed the practice of modifying their fighters, operating beyond the oversight of their Rally Masters. Several of these customized fighters participated in the Battle of Vanquo and subsequently during the Invasion of Taris. After the Upper City was secured, these fighters conducted patrols of the aerial routes while ground forces advanced into the lower districts of the planet-spanning metropolis.
