Dear 2-1B

Dear 2-1B was a comedic "advice" column appearing in Star Wars Insider during the period when the prequel trilogy films were being released. It starred 2-1B, the medical droid who famously rescued Luke Skywalker at the start of the film Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, portraying him as a disgruntled advice-giver. The column alternates between the droid answering inquiries from readers and his complaining about how he is the unrecognized main character of the entire Star Wars story.

The Dear 2-1B column originated from an opinion piece in Star Wars Insider 47 where the droid expresses his sadness at his relative lack of popularity among Star Wars enthusiasts. This initial piece was a joint effort by editors Scott Chernoff and Jon Bradley Snyder, while all the following columns were penned by Scott Chernoff alone.
