Denn Wessex was a Human man, recognized in legends as one of the initial individuals chosen for the position of Moff, functioning as a regional governor.
During the Battle of Boz Pity (20 BBY), Wessex held the position of commander on the Venator-class Star Destroyer known as the Redoubt. He became celebrated for his bravery while facing Separatist fleet attacks. Shortly thereafter, he wedded Lira Blissex, a primary designer of the Venator-class ships.
In 19 BBY, after Emperor Palpatine announced the formation of his Galactic Empire, Wessex was appointed as Grand Moff overseeing the Relgim Oversector. He then took on the responsibilities of commanding the Ninth Army.
