Depu, a bounty hunter of the male persuasion, existed in the era of the Galactic War. He frequently partnered with Kern on numerous bounty hunts that spanned several years. Driven by a fixation to capture Jakarro, a Wookiee smuggler, and his droid companion, C2-D4, Kern orchestrated a scheme. He lured them into delivering a shipment of glitterstim spice to a supposed buyer, only to have Depu and twenty other individuals lying in wait. The planned ambush, however, backfired. The intended targets managed to flee, leaving seventeen injured and four dead in their wake. Depu met his end at the hands of Jakarro, who used the very crate intended for delivery as a weapon, bludgeoning him to death.
