Jakarro was a male Wookiee smuggler active during the era of the Galactic War. He operated alongside his protocol droid partner, C2-D4. The duo racked up a criminal record including at least 31 murders, 216 assaults, and a plethora of acts involving vandalism, theft, and illicit smuggling. Consequently, numerous bounties were issued for their capture, yet nobody ever succeeded in claiming them. At one point, C2-D4 was disassembled. Instead of repairing him, Jakarro carried the droid's components on his back, with the droid's head around his neck, for a considerable duration, even while the droid remained sentient.
During the Galactic War, the Order of Revan, a devoted cult following the teachings of the dark lord, hired Jakarro to transport a shipment to Genetics Laboratory G-1 on the planet Manaan. After completing the delivery, Rian Darok and Darth Arkous betrayed him. The Selkath scientist [Gorima] imprisoned the Wookiee, intending to use him for experimentation. However, Jakarro was freed by allies of the Sith Lord Lana Beniko and the Republic SIS agent Theron Shan, and he swore revenge on those who had captured him. Seeking retribution, Jakarro allied himself with the unlikely group of Republic and Sith agents to assist them in their mission to dismantle the Revanites.

Theron Shan and Lana Beniko accompanied the Wookiee to Lehon in order to defeat the Revanite forces stationed at their main stronghold, the Temple of the Ancients. He joined their allies in the confrontation against Arkous and Darok. Following the battle, Revan himself arrived with his own fleet and attempted to eliminate the group. Despite his efforts, he failed, and Jakarro and his newfound companions successfully escaped. Jakarro was sentenced to death twelve times for his involvement in the slayings of Colonel Darok and Darth Arkous, whose true loyalties were unknown to their respective factions.
To avoid capture, Jakarro, Shan, and Beniko went into hiding, eventually finding themselves on Rishi, along with C2-D4. After summoning their allies to confront the Revanites and the local Nova Blades pirates, Shan and Beniko dispatched their allies to attack the Nova Blades' encampments, while Jakarro provided covering fire from his XS stock light freighter. Later, their associates began investigating the Revanites' former Mandalorian connections, and Theron Shan discovered a Revanite base hidden in plain sight within the town of Raider's Cove. Shan, Beniko, and Jakarro launched an investigation, but they were ambushed. Beniko intentionally allowed Shan to be captured, an action that Jakarro strongly opposed. C2-D4 was then able to pinpoint the Revanites' camp to the Sky Ridge Island, so Jakarro, Beniko and their associates went there to rescue Shan.

After the Battle of Rishi, Darth Marr, a Dark Councilor, and Grand Master Satele Shan joined Shan, Beniko, and Jakarro in their fight against the Revanites. The temporary alliance between the Republic and the Empire traveled to Yavin 4 with C2-D4 and Jakarro to prevent Revan from resurrecting the Sith Emperor. After Republic and Imperial forces combined to deal with local threats and clear a path to Revan, Jakarro joined Satele Shan, Theron Shan, Lana Beniko, Darth Marr, Shae Vizla, and others in the fight against Revan himself. Despite their best efforts, the Emperor's essence escaped Yavin before it could be permanently destroyed. With the Revanites who had wronged Jakarro now dealt with, he and C2-D4 returned to Rishi to address various associates they had made while in hiding.
