Dermot Power

Dermot Power, an illustrator, concept artist, and comic book artist, was born in County Waterford, Ireland, on July 22 1967. He contributed to Star Wars movies like Attack of the Clones and The Force Awakens, after beginning his career illustrating children's books.

Artwork he created as early concepts for Attack of the Clones' Sith Lord, which ultimately went unused, was later adapted for the character of Asajj Ventress in Star Wars: Clone Wars and related projects.

Power's conceptual designs for a chrome stormtrooper are showcased in The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a 2015 reference book. This character eventually evolved into Captain Phasma in the final The Force Awakens film.
