A Kel Dor Jedi is targeted by a Derriphan attempting to seize control. Derriphans were beings born from the power of the dark side of the Force.
The name "Derriphan" originated from an old Sith term signifying "devourer." This designation stemmed from their ability to completely consume the thoughts and experiences of living beings, leaving behind only a vacant husk. To achieve this, the creature needed to infiltrate the target's body to feed. Once inside, the Derriphan would take over the individual while draining their life force.
Descriptions of Derriphans depict them as small, black stars brimming with energy.
It was widely believed that Derriphans had died out during the Great Sith War. However, it was later discovered that some had survived and continued to exist during the era of the Galactic Civil War. One such Derriphan, named Ziakas, made its home in the Glow Dome, a nightclub located on Adarlon.
