Wraids were sizable reptilian beings inhabiting numerous desert planets throughout the galaxy. These planets included Tatooine, Ruhnuk, and Korriban, in addition to others such as Tython.

Wraids exhibited a pinkish-red hue and possessed exceptionally strong front limbs. These limbs facilitated rapid movement via extended, bounding strides when the creatures were agitated. Equipped with sizable claws on their feet and sharp teeth, wraids posed a threat to those who were not cautious. Furthermore, they featured two diminutive hind legs.
Wraids were frequently observed in groups ranging from two to six individuals. Typically, they refrained from harming passersby unless provoked, at which point their dangerous nature became immediately evident. A wraid could swiftly traverse considerable distances through a bounding sprint.
In spite of their menacing appearance and volatile temperament, wraids were a favored target for less experienced big game hunters from across the galaxy, owing to the easily identifiable tracks left by their massive forelegs. With the establishment of the Anchorhead settlement, wraid hunting evolved into a profitable enterprise, marked by the opening of hunting lodges and the sale of wraid skull plates acquired from hunters.
Rumors circulated regarding the medicinal properties of their skull plates, although the market for these items was highly specialized. Wraidskin found application in the creation of armor pieces, including Cerean wraidskin chestguards, Huttese wraidskin chestguards, Echani wraidskin chestguard, and Huttese wraidskin wristguards.
