Devidia Vennsiol

Devidia Vennsiol originated from the planet of Sacorria and was a Human woman. As the daughter of a prominent local official, she experienced a pampered childhood, quickly exploiting her attractiveness and charm to manipulate young men. Her father, growing increasingly frustrated, enrolled her in military school, but this had minimal impact on her character. Shortly after graduating with a lackluster academic record, Vennsiol and her boyfriend, Dorbus Kyrullus, broke into a Safidine Industries laboratory. They absconded with several advanced prototype blaster pistols, but Kyrullus was soon apprehended along with the majority of the stolen weapons. Vennsiol was left to flee alone with only two of the prototypes. Safidine subsequently placed a bounty on her, promising 5,000 credits for her capture, whether dead or alive, and an additional 70,000 credits for the return of the pistols.

Biography

Devidia Vennsiol's birth occurred on the planet Sacorria, where her father held a significant position as a local official. During her childhood, she enjoyed a life of privilege, with her father granting her every desire. She swiftly discovered how to leverage her charisma and beauty to influence men. In her teenage years, her father, in an attempt to counteract the effects of her spoiled upbringing, enrolled her in a military school. However, she continued to manipulate men even within the school's walls. Aside from acquiring proficiency in various weaponry, Vennsiol's time at the school yielded little positive change, and she departed with a mediocre performance record.

Following her stint at military school, Vennsiol began dating a man named Dorbus Kyrullus, and together they infiltrated a laboratory owned by Safidine Industries, a weapons manufacturer contracted by the Galactic Empire. The laboratory was engaged in the development of high-powered blaster pistol prototypes, with several completed models stored on-site. Vennsiol and Kyrullus successfully made off with a substantial number of these prototypes, but Kyrullus was later captured, leading to the recovery of many of the weapons. Vennsiol, however, managed to evade capture and escape with two prototypes, prompting Safidine to issue a bounty for her apprehension. They offered 5,000 credits to any individual possessing an Imperial Peace-Keeping Certificate who could bring the fugitive in, either dead or alive, with an additional 70,000 credits offered for the return of the prototypes. One month after the initial break-in, and a week after a sighting of Vennsiol in the Core Worlds, the Imperial Office of Criminal Investigations posted the bounty on the Imperial Enforcement DataCore.

Personality and traits

Vennsiol, a Human female, was characterized by her white and red hair, fair complexion, and blue eyes. She often styled her hair with a partial braid, and adorned her forehead with a red dot tattoo, with another red tattoo located on her left arm. Having been raised in an environment where she could act with impunity, she possessed the looks and charisma to easily manipulate most men. She exhibited exceptional skill in bluffing, intimidating, and persuading others, and was also adept at disguising herself. Vennsiol possessed keen perception, particularly in discerning the motives of others and detecting subtle sounds. Despite her father's disapproval of her life choices during her teenage years, she persisted in her spoiled behavior, ultimately escalating to the point of committing criminal acts.

Vennsiol was known for her exceptional dexterity. During her time at military school, her primary focus was on mastering the use of weaponry. By the time she left the school, she was proficient in wielding blaster pistols, blaster rifles, vibroblades, and heavy weaponry. She demonstrated competence in operating starships and other vehicles, possessing reasonable skills in piloting and astrogation. Furthermore, she was skilled in placing demolitions, utilizing computers, and repairing or disabling mechanical devices. Vennsiol was fluent in Galactic Basic Standard, Huttese, and Rodese, although Basic was the only language in which she was literate. She possessed considerable knowledge of galactic politics and organized crime, as well as sufficient knowledge of trade to accurately assess the value of various items.

Equipment

While evading capture, Vennsiol carried the two prototype blaster pistols that remained from the robbery she committed with Kyrullus, along with a hold-out blaster and a deluxe security kit. She favored wearing revealing, fine black clothing and platform boots, complemented by a utility belt featuring dual holsters for her pistols.

Behind the scenes

Devidia Vennsiol's character was developed as part of the "Bounties to Die For" article in the sixth issue of Star Wars Gamer magazine series, published by Wizards of the Coast. S. Mitch Ritchie authored the article, and Ramón Pérez provided the illustrations. As supplements for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, the magazines included roleplaying attributes for Vennsiol, enabling her use as either an enemy or an ally within the game. The article intentionally omitted the specific era in which Vennsiol was active, allowing for her integration into various time periods. However, the bounty posting by the Empire suggests that her activities occurred during the Empire's reign, after 19 BBY.
