"Dewback" functioned as the Rebel SpecForce sentinel's call sign within the Corellian Sector region of Nar Shaddaa, utilized by the Rebel SpecForce. This sentinel, known as "Dewback", alerted "Stardog One" to the fact that two light freighters nearing the sector were, in reality, Gamma-class assault shuttles in disguise.
Within the printed edition of A Hunter's Fate: Greedo's Tale, the Rebel SpecForce call sign for Spane Covis was identified as Dewback. Conversely, in the webstrip adaptation, Spane Covis's spoken lines are distributed between two distinct characters: an unnamed Human, and a Mon Calamari who specifically uses the "Dewback" callsign.
