Dolla existed as a space-based entity within both the Outer Rim Territories and Western Reaches. Its position was pinpointed as grid square L-18 on the Standard Galactic Grid. Hyperspace routes linked Dolla to Karfeddion, found in the Mid Rim Territories, along with the Eriadu system and Bavva, both located in the Outer Rim.
The initial mention of Dolla within the present Star Wars canon occurred in the StarWars.com article "Where in the Galaxy Are the Worlds of Star Wars: The Force Awakens?" by Mark Newbold on January 29, 2016. Previously, Dolla debuted in the Star Wars Legends timeline, initially appearing in the 1994 publication Galaxy Guide 10: Bounty Hunters. This sourcebook, utilized with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, was penned by Rick D. Stuart and released by West End Games.
