The Dorja family boasted considerable wealth and a remarkable legacy: for eight consecutive generations, its members dedicated themselves to serving in the navy of the Galactic Republic, the Galactic Empire, and later, the Imperial Remnant.
Captain Dorja of the Imperial Navy represented the seventh generation of Dorja men to serve in this capacity. His lineage was steeped in naval tradition, with his father, grandfather, and all prior generations having held positions as naval officers. Among his forebears, at least one achieved the rank of admiral, and several commanded ships of the line. Before 4 ABY, Dorja rose to the rank of captain, commanding the Galactic Empire's Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Relentless. Even after the Empire's collapse in 11 ABY, he continued to lead the warship under the banner of Supreme Commander Gilad Pellaeon's Imperial Remnant. Carrying on the family tradition, his daughter, Vana, emulated her father's path and attained the rank of commander within the Remnant's Navy.
