The Dragon-class Heavy Cruiser came into existence under the direction of Emperor Palpatine's Doctrine of Fear, with the explicit purpose of coercing entire planets into obedience through sheer terror.
The design of this vessel was intentionally crafted to evoke the most primal fears of humanoid beings. Its elongated form began with a head-like bow, culminating in a multi-gun emplacement at the stern that mimicked a lethal tail. On either side of the bow, hangar bays gaped open, much like monstrous jaws, prepared to unleash a complement of 24 TIE/LN starfighters for offensive, scouting, and patrol duties.
