A Human male of considerable height and imposing physique, was known as Delurin. He held the rank of Moff within the Imperial hierarchy.
During his tenure as an Imperial Moff, Delurin supervised the construction of the prototype Dragon-class heavy cruiser, named the Galaxy Dragon, and assumed command of the vessel for its culminating operational trial. Departing from the Kuat Drive Yards assembly line, situated within the isolated Karavis system under Imperial control, the ship proceeded directly towards the planet Miko. Immediately upon the ship's emergence from hyperspace, Delurin witnessed the prototype's devastating assault on Miko's populace. The Mikoans, having refused to submit to the authority of Emperor Palpatine, were made an example of. Subsequently, a communication was received, reporting the death of Emperor Palpatine.
The signal's strength was compromised, resulting in fragmented and distorted visuals, yet the message's content remained clear. "This is Captain Pellaeon, commanding officer of the Star Destroyer Chimaera," the static-ridden holographic image declared, the voice tinged with uncertainty. "The Emperor has perished. Imperial fleet remnants are withdrawing from the Endor system. The Rebellion has achieved victory in this engagement, but the war remains undecided." The transmission concluded with instructions for all Imperial forces to converge at a secure installation located within the Core Worlds. Delurin, however, chose to disregard this directive. With the Emperor deceased, he determined that the time had come for a new figure to emerge and seize control of the Empire. Delurin resolved that he would be that leader, with his flagship, the Galaxy Dragon, serving as his instrument of power.
Delurin promptly declared himself Warlord of Wild Space, a title of his own invention, and immediately set course for the Svekk system. Upon arrival, he swiftly conquered the planet Bormter with minimal resistance. The planet would serve as a crucial resource for establishing a power base and logistical hub for his ship and its crew. The [Bormterrans](/article/bormterran] became the source for Delurin's elite dragon troopers. These soldiers displayed unwavering loyalty to Warlord Delurin, and were dedicated to carrying out his directives without reservation. He commissioned elaborate armor for both himself and his Dragon Troopers, designed to instill fear in all who beheld them.
Warlord Delurin found himself in perpetual conflict not only with the remnants of the Galactic Empire, but also with the forces of the New Republic. While he harbored intense animosity towards the Republic (persistently referring to them as the Rebellion, a sentiment shared by numerous Imperials), he also firmly believed in his destiny to rule the Empire, thus designating any dissenting Imperials as adversaries. Although he sought to eliminate all his enemies, he was generally astute enough to avoid direct confrontation with superior forces, instead marking them for future elimination. For a period, he was content to govern the frontier territories of Wild Space, while maintaining his ambition for the Emperor's vacant throne on Coruscant.
Under Delurin's command, the Galaxy Dragon launched an assault on a New Republic diplomatic vessel. This attack resulted in the ship crash-landing on an uncharted planet within the remote regions of Wild Space, prompting Delurin and his forces to pursue them. Fortunately for the diplomat, a Rebel rescue team successfully located and extracted him before the Dragon Troopers could apprehend them.
Following this incident, the diplomat proceeded to the planet Miko, with the intention of facilitating the Mikoans' integration into the Republic. Delurin arrived aboard the Dragon to thwart this endeavor, but a combined Mikoan/Republic force successfully repelled the Dragon and its Dragon Troopers from the planet.
Delurin also issued orders for the Dragon to attack the luxury cruiser Wendiri Nightstar, demanding the surrender of all occupants and the transfer of the vessel to his command. However, upon attempting to board, he was met with resistance from a group of passengers who managed to delay his Dragon Troopers long enough for the Nightstar to activate its hyperdrive engines and escape into hyperspace.
