The Dragon Clan represented one of several groupings that new young Initiates were sorted into upon starting their training within the Jedi Order. Individuals within this clan were chosen for their apparent resilience. After being assigned to the clan, these pupils would progress together through the academy located at the Jedi Temple until they graduated.
Taking its designation from the diverse dragon species found across the galaxy, this clan was based at the Jedi Temple after the Ruusan Reformation within the Galactic Republic. Having instructed numerous students across many years, the clan was disbanded, along with the rest of the Order, in 19 BBY during the Great Jedi Purge.
