A crime lord and arms dealer of the Hutt species, Dreddon operated his illicit business from Tatooine.

During the final decades of the Galactic Republic era, Dreddon had a reputation as one of the most influential arms dealers operating within the Outer Rim Territories. Following the death of his associate, Wallanooga, who was killed by the notorious bounty hunter Aurra Sing sometime before 36 BBY, Dreddon expanded his operations by absorbing much of Wallanooga's former gun-running enterprise. Despite his considerable bulk and the vastness of his sales territory, Dreddon made it a point to personally oversee the sale of his weaponry. According to Aurra Sing, the weapons Dreddon sold were often of substandard quality, even by the lax standards of the Outer Rim (even the Red Iaro terrorists situated on Lannik declined to purchase them).
Although his primary base of operations was Tatooine, he maintained several secret bases and hideouts across the Outer Rim, including a tower located on an uncharted jungle planet. He and Wallanooga engaged in arms dealing with a wide range of clients, from bounty hunters to Jabba Desilijic Tiure. In particular, a shipment of his overpriced weapons intended for Arkanian insurgents fell into Jabba's possession. Jabba then instigated a conflict between the native Tusken Raider tribes of Tatooine and the planet's moisture farmers, with the intention of selling the weapons to the frightened settlers.
One of Dreddon's customers was the Toydarian Watto. This transaction indirectly allowed Anakin Skywalker to recover components from the arms surplus (including Tyrian hydraulic struts) in Watto's junkyard. Anakin later used these parts for the air brakes of his final podracer, which ultimately led to his liberation from slavery.
Dreddon, in selling his goods to diverse clientele, cultivated a fierce and lethal rivalry with Black Sun Vigo Antonin. In 27 BBY, the two rivals issued reciprocal bounties, which were accepted by Zam Wesell and Jango Fett, respectively. The bounty hunters successfully completed their assignments, but neither received the promised payment.
He possessed a personal luxury freighter known as the Bedwana Wangas Ateema.
Dreddon had a passion for travel and typically managed his weapons sales transactions in person. While he preferred to delegate the act of killing, Dreddon personally possessed and carried a variety of specialized weapons. Dreddon also kept a personal harem of enslaved women, whom he seemingly brought with him wherever he went. In a manner similar to Jabba Desilijic Tiure, this ultimately led to his downfall, as Zam Wesell was able to approach him closely enough to assassinate him by infiltrating his harem.
