Dryanta, whose name signifies "old judge" in the Shyriiwook language, was a Wookiee related to Chewbacca as a cousin. In the time that the Galactic Empire occupied Kashyyyk, Dryanta fought with the Wookiee resistance under the leadership of Katarra. When Chewbacca came back to his planet to be at Lumpawarrump's Test of Ascension, he trusted Dryanta, as well as another cousin named Jowdrrl, to look after the Millennium Falcon.
Dryanta took part in the operation that saved Han Solo from the Pride of Yevetha. Later on, he was there at Chewbacca's funeral.
