The Duros Sector existed as a part of Nar Shaddaa. Its inhabitants, primarily Duros, lent their name to the district. This sector held the unfortunate distinction of being among the poorest areas on the moon.
During the period of the Cold War, this sector became a refuge for numerous alien war refugees. They sought sanctuary from the expanding reach of the Sith Empire. Consequently, the sector became a hub of resistance against Imperial control.
Madel Felth, an officer within Imperial Intelligence, was tasked with leading operations aimed at suppressing the rebels within this sector. The Jedi Order directly supported the rebellion, dispatching several Knights to aid in the fight against the Empire.
In the decades leading up to the Clone Wars, the Neimoidians of the Trade Federation provided substantial funding to the sector. It gained recognition throughout the galaxy as a cosmopolitan haven located in the Outer Rim. Within its boundaries were the Old Duros Spaceport and a concealed tunnel entrance leading to the Corellian Sector.
Following the Trade Federation's collapse and the Galactic Empire's ascent, the Duros Sector deteriorated, mirroring the decline seen across the moon. Many Neimoidians residing there adopted the identity of Duros. By the early years of the Empire's reign, the sector was largely deserted, inhabited only by creatures with limited intelligence. It subsequently became known as the Old Duros Sector.
