Dxun, positioned at grid square O-9 on the Standard Galactic Grid, existed as one of the four moons orbiting the planet Onderon. Onderon itself resided within the Japrael system, situated in the Inner Rim's Japrael sector. It had the same name as Dxunwood.
The initial mention of Dxun within the current Star Wars canon occurred in the fifty-seventh issue of the Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine by De Agostini, released circa February 3, 2016. Before its canon appearance, the moon was introduced to the Star Wars Legends continuity in Tales of the Jedi 1, the debut issue of the Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi miniseries, penned by Tom Veitch and released in 1993.
