Ecliptic Evaders

The Ecliptic Evaders were a fictitious starfighter squadron, the brainchild of Derek "Hobbie" Klivian. Klivian and Biggs Darklighter made up the entirety of this unit, both having been mutineers from the Rand Ecliptic before joining the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

History

Biggs Darklighter and Derek "Hobbie" Klivian escaped to the Alliance to Restore the Republic base located on Yavin 4 after staging a mutiny on the Imperial ship called the Rand Ecliptic. Following their arrival, Klivian conceived of a fictional unit for the two of them, which he named the Ecliptic Evaders.

For a period, the Ecliptic Evaders were stationed within the Sullust system. Ultimately, however, Darklighter and Klivian's talents were needed in different locations, leading General Jan Dodonna to redistribute them to more strategically advantageous posts.

Organization

Being a mock unit, the Ecliptic Evaders consisted of only two pilots, both of whom had a prior association with the Imperial vessel Rand Ecliptic. Biggs Darklighter, who displayed the Ecliptic Evaders' emblem on his flight helmet, participated in the Battle of Yavin as Red Three and perished during that battle. Hobbie Klivian fought in the Battle of Hoth as Rogue Four, survived, and went on to become a key member of Rogue Squadron.
