The elix represented a scarce species of avian predators that engaged in pack hunting. In the time of the Imperial dominion, their original homeworld faced annihilation from a supernova event. To safeguard the continuation of the species, a group was relocated to the Imperial Species Preservation Zone planet known as Dar'Or. On this new world, the elix became even more formidable hunters due to the significantly reduced gravity compared to their previous habitat. The elix targeted the indigenous intelligent inhabitants, the Ri'Dars, as their prey.

Furthermore, the elix drew the attention of smugglers to Dar'Or, because their flesh was highly valued by culinary enthusiasts.
